The brief
We would like you to design a campaign for the Royal Bolton Hospital, children’s unit. The target audience are children aged up to 16. This is a very broad age group and as such is broken down. Into three areas preschool 0-4 (group A) primary 5-10 (group B) secondary 11-16 (group C) Being admitted to hospital can be a very stressful time, especially for children. Fear can be born of many things, fear of the unknown, a strange environment, meeting new people, a lack of knowledge. We want you to choose one group and create 3 outcomes for it.
I decided to target a mixture of all groups. I focused on ages 4-12.
My Idea
My idea is education, I am going to use the theme of transport and create different creative outcomes to teach the children and also keep them entertained whilst they are in hospital. I think that this will work well because, whilst children are in hospital they are in need of a distraction. Therefore, I think that education is the best distraction. I decided that I would make an activity book with all the different types of transport in it, an information booklet for parents and wall art.
how I expanded the brief
I expanded the brief by creating more outcomes, I decided that with the vehicle illustrations I made, I could create more outcomes. Therefore, I also made greeting cards, posters, playing cards, postcards and window art.
